I could not live without my bike - I would sleep with
it if Jean let me!!
My biggest wish for triathlon? A new bike!! Why?
Because it looks cool.
My sporting background - when I was a teen I
ran cross country, was on the local football and
hurling teams and cycled, loved cycling!
I chose triathlon because I feel that in triathlon
there is room for everyone. I had tried to get
back into competitive cycling in my early 20’s
but with cycling you need to be pretty
competitive to enjoy every weekend, in triathlon
you can hang with the elites up front or the
distinguished down the back - as I say there is
room for everyone.
My first triathlon was in Bala , South Wales. It was a middle
distance triathlon (think I may have done a Marshalls race
before it sometime but this was my first proper triathlon). It was
a pretty tough race and I had no idea what to expect. I worried
about forgetting something on the Bike or off on the run..
My proudest moment in triathlon was watching my daughter
Naomi climb over other swimmers in her first triathlon in the
Gulf of Aqaba while we were living in Israel.
My most embarrassing moment in triathlon was having the
race marshalls approach me after the cycle in Bala Triathlon
to say I was disqualified for crossing the white line on the
road …
In terms of an Ironman - been there, done that and have the T-Shirt…
To be quicker is my agenda for the future and in terms of who to
beat.... anyone at all (maybe Doug.... Again!!)
