The Jealous Wall Duathlon

in association with Westmeath Sports Partnership, Belvedere House Gardens & Park, Outdoor Escapes, Midland Trophies and the ESB

Race day is coming soon, and we wanted to send out a few notes to all those wishing to compete,

· Registration is in Belvedere House Visitors Centre starting at 09.00am on Saturday

· We have a maximum entry of 100 – please turn up on time for registration

· Costs - €25 per entry with a Triathlon Ireland membership

· TI Members, please, remember you 2008 number

· Not a TI member? No problem, a one-day-licence is €10

· Transition will open at 09.00am for registered athletes ONLY! Friends, family, coaches, well-wishers etc may not enter transition

· Your bike should be in road-worthy condition

· Helmets are mandatory, you will not be allowed race without one

· NO Headphones of any description are permitted

· A water station will be available on the second run section and there will be some water at the finish

· Athletes will be provided a lunch voucher

Midland Triathlon Club are pleased to announce details of their 2008  'Jealous Wall Duathlon' (5km run, 20km cycle, 2.5km run) to be held at Belvedere House, Mullingar on Saturday 19th April at 11am. The first run leg is a challenging 5k loop on trail paths. Transition is located on the upper terrace of Belvedere House and is followed by the bike leg which takes competitors on two 10k laps. The outward leg of each loop is fast and on newly surfaced road but returns on a more technical route. The second run leg (2.5k) returns competitors to the grounds of Belvedere and promises some variations from the original 5k loop, finishing under the shadow of The Jealous Wall. Registration will be taken on the day (9am to 10:30am) for both individuals (EUR25) and teams (EUR45 per team). One day licenses are required for non TI members. Refreshments and t-shirts provided for competitors on the day and free admission for spectators.

Jealous Marshals Race

We all love to race, and for many it’s been a long time waiting since last year. The committee are pleased to announce the ‘Jealous Marshals Race’ taking place on Friday 18^th April at 7pm. This race is for our marshals only and will allow those who want to marshal to get a race in as well. Taking place over the same course, race begins at 7.15pm sharp. Of course, there is one condition, you must marshal to take part in the race. Prizes will be given for first male and first female to cross the line, all competitors will have comprehensive race times and best of all, entrance is free! Set up will be on the day from about 6.30pm, but get there early, we start at 7.15pm sharp!
